About

A small team, a different architecture.

Ioma Labs is an AI research company. We're building Resonance — a from-scratch, feedback-trained memory and language system with no pretrained model inside, whose every belief is grounded, auditable, and correctable by construction. Alongside it we run Tessera, an applied practice bringing the same discipline — governance, validation, audit — to the AI systems organizations run today. This is who we are and why we're doing it.

01 — Mission

Why we exist.

We don't believe the limits of today's models are only a matter of scale. A system that entangles knowledge, language, and reasoning in one weight space cannot be audited, cannot be corrected without retraining, and cannot tell its sources from its inventions — structurally. We think the way past those limits is a different architecture, not a bigger one. So we removed the pretrained model entirely.

An intelligence worth trusting should be able to show you why it believes what it believes, accept a correction in seconds, and hold nothing it wasn't taught. We built the system where those are consequences of the structure, not promises about it.

02 — Approach

How we work.

Principle

Measure before re-architecting

This project has twice mistaken an undertraining problem for an architectural one. Apparent limits are treated as training artifacts until an experiment shows otherwise.

Principle

A verification culture

Every suspected defect is reproduced before it is reported; every fix is measured before it ships. The full 2026 hardening audit is written down, not folklore.

Principle

Name the edges

The open questions that decide the company are published, each with a measurement plan. We'd rather show a plotted line than make a claim.

03 — Team

Who's building this.

Ioma Labs was founded in 2026 by Daniel Dilan and Michael Musilli — formalizing work the two had been building toward, quietly, for about a year before. Resonance itself was designed, built, deployed, and hardened by a single founder; the board of experts is how that core becomes a team.

Daniel Dilan

Co-founder & CTO

Full-spectrum AI systems engineer and the sole architect of Resonance — the encoder, the meshes, the learned grammar, the live service, and the zero-loss durability layer, with a documented decision record behind every call. Leads all platform architecture and technical delivery, from model orchestration through production-deployed software.

Michael Musilli

Co-founder & CEO

M.S., Civil Engineering. Brings direct experience within prime contractor organizations on the acquisition and execution of multi-billion-dollar federal infrastructure programs. Leads business development, teaming, and contract engagement, and keeps the company structured, funded, and accountable so the research has room to happen.

The extended team, by design, is the board of experts: domain specialists who set each field's conceptual skeleton and approve the automated curriculum that fills it. First seats are recruited with this round.
